HighSchool & Graduates

  • Virtual Book Club with Tara

    Tara is a Communications Disorders Assistant. She works with many of our VIPs in communication groups.

    Your enrolment in the group includes the book. Each week the group will discuss the book and read passages. During the sessions Tara places focus on social communication skills, answering and asking questions and learning from one another!

  • Virtual Cooking Class with Sarah

    It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

  • Virtual Cooking Class with Eliora

    Join Chef Eliora who will guide you through a cooking class each week Each week she will send out recipes so you can have the ingredients ready to prepare during the live zoom meeting! Any food restrictions please email me and let me know!

  • Virtual Music with Gi

    Our Music classes are held on Wednesday evenings with 4 to 5 participants per session. With the interest so far from the Survey Monkey poll, we will have 3 sessions (more if there is interest). Sessions are 40 minutes each. Participants that are in current time slots and reregistering will get preference over the slot. Just to clarify ‘Music Classes’ - these sessions focus on vocals. Ginella has been focusing on songs chosen with the group.

  • Virtual ArtShine

    is a local Art Company with a purpose. They will provide each participant with a box filled with art supplies to support the completion of weekly Art Projects with an instructor who will guide us in completing an artistic masterpiece!

    We will make arrangements with each participant to deliver the art box to you.

Elementary

  • Virtual Dance Ability Movement

    The Dance Ability Movement creates opportunities for individuals of all abilities to experience the arts! Occupational Therapists and Dance Instructors, Mallory and Jade, have created The Dance Ability Movement as a way to provide inclusive and accessible programming in dance studios so that everyone can participate!

  • Virtual Art Shine

    is a local Art Company with a purpose. They will provide each participant with a box filled with art supplies to support the completion of weekly Art Projects with an instructor who will guide us in completing an artistic masterpiece!

    I (Karen) will make arrangements with each participant to deliver the art box to you.

  • Multi-Sport program

    Coach David and KidsPlay Sports are dedicated to promoting sports and active living for children of all ages.

Early Years Group

  • Virtual Dance Ability Movement

    The Dance Ability Movement creates opportunities for individuals of all abilities to experience the arts!   • Virtual Parent Meet & Greet

    Pre-pandemic, the HDSA Early Years Group would get together and meet up at a park with their babies & toddlers. Due to covid, we switched to having meetings online for parents to still be able to connect and discuss their experiences!

Parents/Caregivers

  • IEP Information Sessions

    Every year, IEPs can be a scary part of the school year for parents. Around the beginning of the school year, we have a IEP information session to help new parents entering the school system, and help parents of older children refresh their ideas of resources available for our children.

  • Workshops

    As parents & caregivers have questions or any struggles with particular aspects of their child’s life, the HDSA likes to arrange workshops for everyone to attend to learn and help their VIPs develop to the best of their ability.

  • Yoga

    Being a parent is hard work! during the pandemic, the HDSA would have virtual Yoga sessions for the parents & caregivers to help them relax and reset for the day.

  • Parents Night

    Why should the VIPs have all the fun?! Parents within the HDSA like to arrange to have dinner at a restaurant to get out of the house, have some fun! It is always great to get to know other parents who can relate to you and your family.
