HDSA is a volunteer-powered registered charity supporting people with Down syndrome and their families across the Halton Region. Founded in 1984, we bring families together as a community through peer support, resources, and inclusive programs. If Down syndrome is part of your story as a parent, sibling, grandparent, friend, caregiver, or professional, you belong here.

Since its founding, HDSA has grown many times over, from just four families to a vibrant, active community of parents, volunteers, advocates, and donors across Halton and beyond. Guided by their dedication, we continue to celebrate achievements, overcome challenges, and support one another as a caring, connected community.

Volunteer with HDSA
Donate a Car Canada accepts vehicle donations in support of the Halton Down Syndrome Association. Free towing is available in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to help maximize your donation.
When you donate a car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle through Donate a Car Canada, it will be sold at auction or recycled, depending on its condition, age, and location. Donate a Car Canada handles the full process to make donating simple and ensure HDSA benefits from every gift. Once your donation is complete, you’ll receive a tax receipt and your contribution will help fund programs and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families across Halton.
