High School Scholarship

Halton Down Syndrome Association (HDSA) 
High School “Excellence in Volunteering” Scholarship(s)

Criteria:

These scholarships are for students graduating from high school who have volunteered a minimum of 40 hours for HDSA during their high school careers.  These scholarships are open to high school students (public, catholic, private) within Ontario, who have completed the outlined hours and expectations.

Hours:

At least 40 hours volunteering for HDSA.

Expectations:

Scholarships:

Two scholarships for $1000 each will be awarded to successful candidates.

The HDSA High School “Excellence in Volunteering” Scholarship(s) must be used towards furthering higher learning, through courses, workshops, classes, apprenticeships, college, university, and/or materials for higher learning.

Notes:

HDSA Members cannot use the same volunteer hours for both the HDSA High School “Excellence in Volunteering” Scholarship and the HDSA Support Bursary*.

Submissions:

Students applying for the HDSA High School “Excellence in Volunteering” Scholarship must fill out the application below by answering three questions and submitting the HDSA Volunteer Hour Tracking Sheet by Friday, May 25th, 2018 (no late submissions will be accepted). Successful candidates will be contacted by Monday, June 4th, 2018. 

 

*The HDSA Support Bursary is a specific bursary available for members of HDSA who volunteer a minimum amount of hours annually and is intended to support members of the community who have Down syndrome.
